Question 22: What is the  of the sum of the numbers on the seven hidden faces of the dice?

Predict: I predict that I will have to find the 7 hidden numbers and add them up.

Clarify: I have nothing to clarify.

Solution:

1.First I have to figure out what numbers are missing. They are 4,5,1.

2. Now  for the next dice the numbers that are missing are 6,5,1,3.

3. Then I add the first dice with the hidden numbers and I got 10 because 4+5=9+1=10

4. For the second dice the total of the hidden are 15 because 6+5=11+1=12+3=15.

5. Now I have to add 10+15=25. Which is the answer.

Summary: The strategy I used addition to add the hidden numbers.

The lord in the local area wrote a letter in the mail to the government to say meet me in the new hotel lobby for a meeting. When they got there he spoke about rules and what stuff were illegal. Then he opened the new additional garden. He was the leader of the pack.

One day I was working at the farm. Feeding them, washing them and training them. When I was doing all those jobs I found a coupon to go the Zoo. “I wonder who’s ticket it is” I thought. So I asked everyone I knew but it wasn’t theirs. I did a naughty thing I took the coupon and went to the Zoo. When I got to the Zoo there were heaps of people there when I got to the counter they said ” sorry were closing in 5 minutes and the people before you left.” Okay ” I said. I went back home and then I heard this voice and it said ” The night Zoo needs you. I sprinted to the night Zoo and got there in time. They wanted me to do the night tour and I said ” Yes”. Doing the night Zoo tour was so much fun I got a job at the night Zoo.

Question 22: What is the sum of the numbers on the three hidden faces of the die?

Prediction: I predict that I will have to find the hidden numbers on the dice and figure out the sum.

Clarify: I have nothing to clarify.

Solution:

1. First I have to figure out what the numbers are on the hidden faces. The numbers are 3, 5 and 6.

2. Now I have to add 3, 5 and 6. The answer is 14.

Summary: The strategy I used was addition of the numbers that were hidden.

In court the jury and judge listened to evidence from a person who broke the law and committed a crime.  He said he was innocent but the judge found him guilty and was jailed for three years.  This sentence would allow him to think about what he did wrong and not to repeat this offence again.

Can you see it…. “It’s amazing” I said. After I had cake and played in the pool I went home and I had so much fun and went to bed “Goodnight” mum said. ” Goodnight mum” I said.

Question 23: A snail attempts to climb a 4 metre high wall. In one hour it climbs up 2 metres. The next hour it rests and slips back 1 metre. How long does it take to reach the top of the wall if it keeps climbing and slipping in this way.

Prediction: I predict that I will have to figure out how many metres and how many hours it takes.

Clarify: I have nothing to clarify.

Solution:

1. First we have already climbed 2 meters in 1 hour. Then the snail slips down 1 meter in one hour. So in 2 hours it has climbed 1 meter.

2. The next hour it climbs 2 meters and slips back 1 meter in 1 hour. So the snail has climbed 2 meters in 4 hours.

3. the next hour it climbs 2 meters which the snail has climbed 4 meters and it took 5 hours to climb the 4 meter wall.

Summary: The strategy I used was to draw a chart and every time the snail climbed 2 meters I would put 2 lines in the meter section and put 1 line in the hour section. Then the snail slips down 1 meter so I cross out 1 line in the meter section and put 1 line in the hour section.

There once was a girl named Katrina. She loved animals especially puppies. One day she asked her mum if she could buy one but her mum said no. Katrina was devastated she stormed off to her room crying. She was crying so much she ran to her bathroom and she saw something sparkling in the light. She walked over to the shiny box but when she lifted the lid… a group of puppies jumped out of the box. She was so happy but what if her parents found out? They would scream at her. So she kept it a secret so know one found out and she kept the puppies forever.

Predict: I predict that I will have to figure out what sign I will have to use.

Clarify: I have nothing to clarify.

Solution:

1. First I will have to figure out what sign will work best to get me close to 46.

2. The sign I got was Multiplication. 6 x 8=48.

3. Then to get to the answer 46 I subtracted 2 which gave me the answer of 46.

Summary: The strategy I used was Multiplication and Subtraction.
